Mayco Raku Glazes

Special Raku glazes which develop beautiful metallic lustres and unique crackle patterns when used in Raku firings.  A raku firing is a special quick firing usally done carefully outside, at high temperature the glazed wares are removed from the kiln and placed in a container of combustible material, the unpredictable reactions of the glazes within the oxygen reduced atmosphere creates some outstanding results. Use of a thermal shock-resistant raku clay body will help reduce the incidence of cracking.
