Replacement Thermocouple for Paragon Kilns

Type K Replacement Thermocouple, fits almost all Paragon Kilns we sell.

This 14-GAUGE PY80 THERMOCOUPLE REPLACES the PY50 SHEATHED THERMOCOUPLE

After many test firings and extensive research, the kiln manufacturer has decided to replace the sheathed PY50 thermocouple with a 14-gauge thermocouples (the type with the ceramic beads). The oval ceramic connection block and thermocouple lead wires will remain the same.

They will slide into the same hole as the earlier sheathed thermocouple. 

This thermcouple is though to be better than the previous sheathed version for the following reasons:

1) The new thermocouples should last longer than the sheathed.

2) The 14-gauge thermocouple responds faster to temperature change. The sheathed thermocouple is slower due to the thermal mass of the Inconel tube and the magnesium oxide packed around the thermocouple wire.

3) It is expected that the new beaded thermocouples will be more accurate than the sheathed.

The thermocouple comes with a porcelain block, wires, screws and a small piece of insulating fibre to plug any gas in the chamber wall.
