Spolvero Tracing Papers

 

How to use the Italian Spolvero Tracing Kits.

Each Dusting kit includes a fabric pouch, a ceramic dish and a jar of dust, (vegetable based charcoal substitute). Simply sprinkle some of the dust onto the ceramic dish, then rub the pouch into the dust, picking up enough to carry to your tracing. Take a piece of the Spolvero Tracing paper and secure fix to the surface of your bisque item. Then using the pouch, gently dab charcoal over the tracing paper until you have a dusting across the design. The lift the paper to reveal a dot-to-dot outline showing your chosen design.

The design can then be joined up with a felt tip pen, or simply used as a guide, and you can begin decorating. Do not worry if there is still some charcoal showing when you have finished, as this will totally burn away during the firing.

 

 

The paper can be used over and over again. You also use so very little of the charcoal that once you have bought the kit, it is unlikely you will ever need to stock up!
